Google's Cr-48 Chrome notebook

The Cr-48 Chrome notebook was full of black like stealth fighter, with rubberized black surfaces,on laptop there was no logos at anywhere and have minimal accoutrements: Dual-band Wi-Fi and world-model built in 3G radio and camera, one USB port, single Video-out port, head phone jack and with power supply with microphone and speakers. It has a 12.1” screen and a full-sized keyboard

The Cr-48 laptop, revealed at a press conference this week in San Francisco, isn't up for sale in any retail stores. Instead, the computers will be given away as a part of Google's Chrome operating system pilot program.

The Cr-48 is designed by Google and is available in limited numbers to approved users in order to test out the "work in progress" and provide feedback to the company on how the system works

It’s certainly as fast and responsive as you’d expect from a netbook, but it’s not nearly as fast as a MacBook Air or a reasonably equipped, sub-$1,000 laptop

Apple patents for glasses-free, 3D Display system

Apple has been granted a patent for a projection system that can enable multiple viewers to simultaneously view 3D images without the need for those dorky 3D glasses.

At its core the system involves a screen, projector, sensor, and a 3D imager, which work together to allow multiple viewers to perceive 3D images from nearly any position in a room without glasses. This flexible autostereoscopic 3D effect is achieved by tracking user's positions and projecting pixels onto a reflective, textured surface that then bounces separate images into the left and right eye. Virtual interaction methods with the 3D projections are also described in the document, implying the technology has aspirations beyond passive viewing.

Verizon Wireless Hosts 4G LTE

Verizon has just announced that they will be holding a news conference on December 1st to detail the launch of its next-generation, 4G, LTE network. With plans to go-live in “38 metropolitan areas, covering more than 110 millon people” before the end of the year, this would be the world’s largest LTE deployment. While the network is set to go live before 2011, customers will have to wait until early next year for LTE-compatible handsets to start making the rounds. The event kicks off at 12PM and we'll make sure to tune in, if only to find out what Tony's answer is to the inevitable "what is 4G" question.

BlackBerry 8980 Folks By FCC

The BlackBerry 8980 has been outed by the good folks at the FCC.  Likely the sequel to the Curve 8900, the 8980 is packing quad-band GSM/EDGE radios, a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, optical trackpad, a physical QWERTY keyboard, and the usual Bluetooth/WiFi trimmings you'd expect in a smartphone.
The last time we saw the 8980, so it's good to see the 8900 successor show its face once again.  The 8900 was one of the more handsome handsets made by RIM in recent memory, and the 8980 seems like it's going to be a looker, too.  It's tough to tell right now, but judging by the FCC's photo of the device, it looks like RIM took the Bold 9700/9780's body and bolted a Curve keyboard on it to make the 8980.  There's no word on which carrier(s) will launch the 8980, but as with most GSM 'Berries, it's probably a safe bet that both AT&T and T-Mobile will be on board.Add 3G, though, and they've got a desperately-needed new model to slot in underneath the Bold. The Curve 8980 doesn’t run BlackBerry OS 6, but OS 5. Of course, RIM might want to update the handset’s OS sometime after launch (or even before it).

Infinity I-Kitchen Touch screen computer

The LG’s Internet Refrigerator that incorporated a Windows 98-based PC and 15.1-inch LCD touch display in the door, allowing users to surf the Internet for recipes, play music and videos or (theoretically) do some office work while standing at the fridge. Electrolux seems to think the world is now ready to embrace the idea and has developed an Internet fridge of its own in the form of the Linux-based Infinity I-Kitchen.

Sony sold 4.1 million PlayStation Move Controllers Worldwide

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Move has sold more than 4.1 million units worldwide in the two months since it's launch.

The news comes just one day after Microsoft announced it had sold over 2.5 million Kinect sensors in less than a month. Sony’s PlayStation Move controller is positioned between Nintendo’s Wii controller and the Microsoft Kinect sensor bar. Like Nintendo’s Wii, Sony’s system uses a physical controller and allows for very precise game control. Like the Kinect, it also uses a camera system to track players’ movements. Many gamers have said that the balance between the two technologies provides a better overall gaming experience, though Sony’s sales pace does fall short of the less precise Kinect.
