Mobile network 3 has picked up the LG Optimus One, one of the first handsets running Android 2.2 Froyo, and will be releasing it on pay as you as go as of next week.
The Optimus One, along with the Optimus Chic, is a handset designed for people starting out with Android. It has reasonable specs, a 600MHz processor, a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen and a 3-megapixel Camera. The snapper includes features like face tracking and smile shot. It'll also have Wi-Fi and HSDPA, as you would expect.
The phone will feature an LG-built Android skin, together with an app advisor recommending highly rated apps for you to download every week. You'll also get some decent Froyo benefits, including a faster browser and OS, as well as the potential to use the phone as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot..
3 claims it will be the first phone on the network to have two internal antennas instead of the usual one for receiving a 3G signal, which it said should improve download speeds.
